there is no bt helpline it is showing alerts cannot get into google chrome|||Firstly, try restarting ("rebooting") your computer. You could power down the computer (choose 'Shut Down' from the Start menu), and your internet router, wait five minutes, then turn the router back on, wait a few minutes, check the lights on the router are OK ( look in the manual ), then turn the computer back on and try the internet again.
Secondly, try a different browser. You could download and try Firefox ( http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox鈥?/a> ). Browsers are all similar! So if one works, use that if you can't fix the other.
Thirdly, BT may have changed other settings on your computer apart from the installs, so you should check with them if possible.
An IT expert would sit at the computer and browse through all the settings, and get it working again, maybe by trial and error. It will be difficult by email. So if you can get BT to remotely log in to your PC, they will be able to do this. Or you could subscribe to another IT support service.
You should really tell us what the alerts are. They could be anything, so it is not too helpful just saying 'I am getting alerts'.
You could search on the internet for the text of the alert message. Maybe someone else will have had this problem. Or maybe bt are aware that some users are getting this problem, so they could help you if you call them.
Remember, you should pay attention to alerts and try to understand them, if possible, because they can indicate important security or other problems.
Also, remember that if you give access to your PC to others, they could install spyware etc, so be careful. You can watch what people do if they give you remote assistance, and ask them what they are doing.
Remote assistance may be the way forward, if you are not too technically knowledgeable.|||If you are running a genuine Windows application such as Windows Vista or 7 uninstall MacAffee as it slows you computer down a lot. Install Microsoft Security Essentials and if you have Vista or 7 use Windows firewall as it is OK and they they work well together. Chrome I have tried and it`s the latest fashion thing but is in a BETA stage I believe, as is Firefox which is better, but the Firefox beta 4 version won`t support Yahoo! and several other things. Use IE 8 as it is the most secure as yet.
Get rid of MacAffee and you should not have any problems.|||Is Google chrome set as default browser on your computer or IE8. Make sure Google chrome is set as default browser %26amp; then try browsing websites which should work better.
