Firefox, Google Crome and IE all not working?

For some reason I'm having problems with all my internet browsers suddenly and I don't know why.

The default browser that I've always used is Firefox and it has been completely fine up until a few days ago when it suddenly refused to work. I'm just so confused to why it stopped working. Every time I try and click on it the crasher reporter comes up.

So I've been using Internet Explorer for the past few days but today it's just going so so slow and most pages aren't even loading. It just says 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'

Finally I downloaded Google Crome and that doesn't seem to work either. It's really slow as well and when I try and sign onto twitter it says 'SSL connection error'. I have no idea what to do now.

You'd think I just had a bad connection or something but it's not.. Me, my mum and my brother all have separate accounts on this laptop and they've both been on there's and everything has been fine. I don't get how this could just happen to my account.

Could it be to do with the security software or anything? This laptop has norton on it.. Only my mum has access to that though so i can't even go on it now to check the settings.. :/Firefox, Google Crome and IE all not working?
Yes, almost all security programs especially their firewall have the ability to do that. It's call "Parental Control". It seems your mother account just fine, she can access everything without problem.

She probably blocking you from accessing certain sites. Only some safe site like yahoo answers are available to you right? If this is the case, you need to get permission from your mother. I wonder why your brother can access but not you.

Hope you good luck!Firefox, Google Crome and IE all not working?
hi kimi

i was experiencing a similar problem last week.... and allthough most pc experts will automatically blame malware or spyware well my pc is squeeky clean and is scanned everyday using avg, spybot and malwarebytes ... so malware was not a problem

to cut a long story short the problem was actually my broadband connection... and i did a cold boot with my bt home hub and the following morning the problem had gone......( a cold boot simply means turning off your router/hub from the mains for 30 seconds... then turn it back on and hold the reset button for 15 seconds ( were applicable )

then leave the router/hub for 2 minutes so it can fully apply itself ( ensure all lights are on and lit ) .... then wait another minute then try your default browser .....

i have also wrote a troubleshooter for problems like this when my neighbour also had the same problem as you ( which he still is ... his internet service provider is o2.....

heres the troubleshooter :

CHROME :

1)on google homepage go to View, Toolbars, unchecked Google Toolbar, and then Lock the Toolbar, this can sometimes improve google homepage

loading speed

2)click the spanner(options) on the top right of the page and then go to tools%26gt;extenstions.... then try disabling each extension one by

one.... after each time close down the browser and load again.... if googles loading speed improves then the extension you disabled is the

cause..... you should either leave that disabled or look for a newer version ( which is probally why google is slow.. since the extension is

out of date )

FIREFOX :

1) go to firefox options in top left corner... and then go to add-ons and disable each add-on one by one.... again restart the browser and if

google loads quicker then the add-on you have just disabled is the culprit ....

2)also go to firefox options and then help%26gt; restart firefox with add-ons disabled ..... this also can diagnose add-on problems ......

3)try changing homepage too another search engine ( ask.com is pretty quick... also try dogpile )

4) go to firefox%26gt;options%26gt; clear browsing history and cache.... DO NOT delete passwords

5) disable hardware acceleration ( in browser.. and not in windows )

INTERNET EXPLORER

1) go to internet options in control panel ... then to connections and then lan settings%26gt; uncheck automatically detect settings..... or if

its allready checked/ticked try unticking it

2) update to internet explorer 9 ..... better memory management and more stable

HARDWARE FIXES

1) ROUTER COLD BOOT : SIMPLY TURN OFF YOUR ROUTER FROM THE MAINS FOR 20 SECONDS... THEN PLUG BACK IN... AND PRESS THE RESET BUTTON ( were

applicable ) FOR 15 SECONDS / ALLOW 2 MINUTES FOR EVERYTHING TO SETTLE DOWN ...

NOTE : ISP(INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS ) USE WHATS KNOWN AS "PROFILES" FOR EACH BROADBAND CUSTOMER AND YOU CAN ASK YOUR ISP TO "RESET" THIS

WHICH WILL ( IN SOME CASES ) SPEED UP YOUR CONNECTION SPEED.......

2) I-PLATE / RINGER WIRE MOD .... THE RINGER WIRE ON YOUR MAIN BT MASTER SOCKET CAN CAUSE INTERFERENCE AND EFFECT THE SPEED OF YOUR

BROADBAND CONNECTION.... YOU CAN REMOVE THIS (ADVANCED PC USERS ONLY ) OR EVEN BETTER USE A I-PLATE WHICH BY-PASSES THE RINGER WIRE .....

IN OPTIMAL SITUATUIONS YOU CAN EXPECT INCREASES OF UP TO 3 MEG.... HOWEVER IN SOME CASES IT CAN BECOME WORSE....

3)REPLACE ISP ROUTER ..... ALL ISP,S WILL SUPPLY A WIRLESS/WIRED ROUTER WHEN YOU TAKE OUT A BROADBAND PACKAGE ,HOWEVER THESE ROUTERS/HUBS

ARE MOSTLY VERY BASIC...... HOWEVER YOU CAN ALLWAYS BUY YOUR OWN ROUTER/HUB .... BRANDS SUCH AS LINKSYS AND BELKIN ARE EXCELLENT ,HOWEVER

MAKE SURE YOU BUY A ADSL ROUTER FOR BT,SKY AND O2 ... AND A CABLE ROUTER FOR VIRGIN ECT

i hope this helps, any questions let me know

Sounds to me like an issue with your particular user account (virus? spyware? over-zealous antivirus?). Do yourself a favour and save dozens of hours of aggrivating and angering troubleshooting; create a new user account and get rid of the old one. That's my recommendation, since your mother's account works fine it should resolve most of your issues; minus the fact that you may have some reconfiguration required to reinstate your bookmarks; but trust me - it'll be way less time that trying to troubleshoot. Hope that helps!
