I use google crome do i need microsoft silverlight?

I do not ever use internet exployer so do i need microsoft silverlight?|||Silverlight is like flash it works in non MS browsers. I'm on a Mac and need silverlight for silverlight sites.|||noo.. if it needs it jzt asks fr dwnload.. very simple
